Dining Services’ goal for the Spring 2025 Semester is to focus on Affordability, Variety, and Convenience.
Key Updates
- AYCTE Pilot Extension: Extended through Spring 2025.
- The All You Care to Eat price has been reduced from $13.95 to $12.95.
- A to-go option for All You Care to Eat is now available for $10.95. This price allows one-time through the All You Care to Eat program.
- Pricing Adjustments:
- Reduced pricing for more than 200 items, including breakfast combo plates, the half & half, hamburgers, pizza, and bakery items.
- $10 plate specials now available for dinner at Cherry Tree, DUC, and The Village.
- Flavor shots for Kaldi’s Coffee reduced by more than 20% at our cafes.
- Menu items at the stations Kalamata, Simple Servings, and Spice Market have been reduced.
- Extended Hours & Expanded Service:
- The DUC will continue to be open until 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
- Cherry Tree Cafe will stay open until 9:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, offering hot menu items.
- The Village will offer a deli station and self-serve salad bar for lunch.
- The Bear’s Den will be available for in-person ordering for breakfast and lunch.
- Variety & Convenience:
- The Bear’s Den will feature new stations for lunch for walk-up ordering including a salad bar and our allergen friendly station, Simple Servings. These stations will be open Monday – Friday from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
- Cherry Tree will offer a self-serve yogurt bar available Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.
- Cherry Tree will offer made-to-order omelets available Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
- Paws & Go has expanded their grab-and-go selections, including Kosher offerings and the return of soup!
- The DUC will feature weekly burger specials and a Just Baked Machine will be installed this January.
- Ibby’s will introduce new menu items and specialty drink options for dinner service.
- Cafe Bergson will now offer an all-day, hot sandwich menu!
- Kosher Program:
- More options have been added to our Kosher station, L’Chaim, including a second protein selection for each meal.
- We have reduced the cost for a second portion of protein for Kosher entrées at L’Chaim to $5.09.
- We have expanded our offerings of Kosher bakery products and grab-and-go items at our campus retail locations.
Detailed Updates
WashU Dining Services has committed to a comprehensive 2-3 year overhaul of the dining program. This will include reviewing higher Ed best practices, expanding All You Care to Eat (AYCTE) options, integrating national and local brands, adopting innovative technology, and reconfiguring meal plans to offer diverse options and price points.
- Surveys: Partnering with Student Affairs to include specific dining questions in the upcoming annual student survey in November.
- Vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options have been added to the AYCTE menu rotation and expanded across all dining locations.
- Grill Station: New baked potatoes, roasted veggies rotated daily, avocado toast, grilled cheese, and cheese quesadillas. Added whole wheat tortillas/buns and gluten-free buns available upon request. Vegan and Veggie options added in black bean burgers, Just Eggs, impossible burgers, and Incogmeato tenders (now in wraps).
- Spice Market: Has weekly cuisines available in Mexican, Asian Stir Fry, Italian, Indian, and Cajun. Vegetarian and vegan proteins in chickpeas, lentils, and tofu available consistently.
- Simple Servings: Staples in grilled chicken, sweet potatoes, roasted vegetables, and enhanced allergen-friendly vegetarian/vegan entrees added.
- Seasons: Added new salad bar grains in lentils, quinoa, black beans, and brown rice. Veggie & hummus or mozzarella, tomato, and pesto wraps available. A build-your-own yogurt bar along with allergen-friendly brunch items have been added.
- Bear’s Den: Salad bar is now available during weekend brunch. The Bistro Grill offers walk-up and Grubhub ordering for breakfast and dinner along with the addition of fresh vegetable sides, salads, fruit cups, grill-to-order steak, seafood, and chicken.
- DUC: Taqueria toppings now include rice and beans at no extra charge. Simple Servings Station added a second entrée (grilled chicken) and additional sides.
- Cherry Tree Café: Made-to-order deli sandwiches are available (11 AM–7 PM, Mon–Fri) and a yogurt bar until 7 PM.
- Paws & Go: Opens at 8 AM with breakfast sandwiches and a produce market. Added Stanley’s Sushi added to the cold fridge.
- Ibby’s Bistro: Open Mon–Fri, 11 AM–3 PM & 5 PM–9 PM with the option to order through Grubhub Express.
- Café Bergson: Added hot sandwiches for lunch and dinner.
