A letter from dining pinned below where we will provide continuous updates to feedback received for the Fall 2024 semester.
To Our Students and Parents,
As our students have returned to campus, we’ve heard your feedback and suggestions for how we can improve on-campus dining. Specific areas mentioned include hours of operation, pricing, meal plan value, and the availability of healthy options. Please know we appreciate your emails, calls, and comments and let us assure you that we’re listening and working with our dining partner Sodexo to take steps to improve the dining experience. Here are the changes we’re making, starting this week.
Please see the full list of continual dining updates below.
Regarding pricing, we’re currently evaluating portion sizes at all locations and reviewing our pricing to ensure that it aligns with the meal plan structure and provides value with the changes going into effect. We will continue to monitor and adjust pricing as we find opportunities to pass along savings through volume purchasing and improvements in distribution.
Additionally, this fall we will pilot an All-You-Care-to-Eat (AYCTE) concept for dinner at Bear’s Den. This will give us an opportunity to gather student input for a potential renovation and transition to an AYCTE dining establishment in 2025.
Once again, we appreciate your feedback and are committed to enhancing our on-campus dining options. As part of our ongoing efforts, we will be closely monitoring foot traffic to make adjustments to hours and operations where needed. We also encourage students to take a more active role in shaping our future efforts by joining the Dining Student Advisory Team (DSAT). You can submit an application here. To share concerns or ask questions, please email diningservices@wustl.edu.
Thank you for your partnership and patience as we continue our work to deliver an outstanding WashU dining experience.
Sincerely,
Jason McClellan
